The city of Erbil witnessed a major expansion after 2003, both in terms of space and population growth. These changes were accompanied by transformations in all aspects of city residents lives and particularly in the field of educational services. This paper provides a detailed picture of the spatial distribution of educational service institutions in the city of Erbil, highlighting their pattern of expansion and its compatibility with the population’s distribution across city districts. The paper then identifies appropriate models for the establishment of educational services institutions at each level.
