The BP Energy Outlook 2018 report has been published and has predicted the continued dominance of fossil fuels from oil and gas in the energy sector, with increased demand for renewable energies at the expense of coal. It is also expected that the global demand for oil will make up 27% of total energy demand, followed by natural gas at 26%, and coal at a decline to 21%. Energy demand in China, the US, the Middle East, India, Africa, Russia and Brazil is expected to increase, while the demand in the EU is likely to decrease. Energy demands will decline in both the industrial and the shipping sectors, while it will increase in construction, transportation and petrochemical sectors.
