The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (ACRPS) has published the twenty third issue of its quarterly peer-reviewed journal Omran, a journal dedicated to the social sciences . This edition is comprised of the following studies: “Sects and Sectarianism: from the Word and its Implications to the Analytical Sociological Term” (Azmi Bishara); “A Historical Sociology Approach to Understanding Post-Revolution Disagreement in the Arab Countries” (Raymond Hinnebusch); “Revolution and the History of the Margins in Egypt: An Attempt in Historical Sociology - Thailand as a Comparative Case Study” (Hani  Awad); “Family Violence in Male Narratives: Results and Implications” (Azza Chrarara Baydoun); “Socio-anthropological Debate on the Contribution of Women to the Reproduction of Patriarchy” (Khalid Chahbar); “Fifty Years of Post-Colonial Sociology in Maghreb” (Tayeb Chenntouf , translated into Arabic by Rachid Benbih). The discussions section comprises two papers: “Study of the Vulnerable Middle Class in Morocco: A New Approach” (Saadeddine Igamane) and “Capital in the Twenty-First Century” (Samir Seifan). The book review section includes Elmehdi Lahmamed on “Committing Suicide by Self-Immolation among Unemployed Tunisian Youth” and Nassir Mrouwwa on “On the State: Lectures at the Collège de France, 1989-1992”. In the report section, Mohamed Saadi covered the report on the “Social Sciences in the Arab World: Forms of Presence”, A Primary Reading in the First Arab Social Sciences Report, published by the Arab Council for the Social Sciences.
