A Reading of ECSWA Publications: Migration from the Arab Region after the Arab Spring

Volume 1|Issue 3| Winter 2013 |Discussions

Abstract

This paper analyzes select publications from ECSWA and uses them to forecast the future of the Arab Spring. The paper finds that the success or failure of governments after the revolutions to solve economic problems, foremost among them social divides and unemployment, will provide the impetus for the renewal of the new ruling parties and party coalitions in the coming rounds of elections or a reason for their loud collapse, leaving the way open for other parties and coalitions to take their place, in the hope of meeting the aspirations of the people.
