Report on the 2013 Paris Conference: Centennial of the First Arab Congress held in Paris in 1913

Abstract

On June 4-5, 2013 at the Upper Hall of the Institute for the Arab World in Paris an academic seminar was held to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the convening of the First Arab Congress which met in a hall of the French Geographical Society in Saint-Germain from June 18-24, 1913. The organizers of the conference included a number of important academic institutions comprising an elite group of Arab academics and historians, the Institute for the Arab World in Paris, the ACRPS in Doha, and others. The Conference title was “100 Years after the First Arab Congress: Critical Assessment and Future Prospects.”
