Review of the World Inequality Report 2018

Volume 6|Issue 24| Spring 2018 |Discussions

Abstract

The review aims to present the indicators for monitoring the distribution of income and wealth, globally and within countries as listed in the World Inequality Report 2018 published by the World Inequality Lab. The review confirms the report’s findings by relying on other sources such as Oxfam International Report, titled Reward Work, not Wealth and reports and studies from Arab countries such as Sudan. The review links these sources to the main report conclusions, noting that since 1980, the inequality in the distribution of income and wealth has increased rapidly, which «can lead to various sorts of political, economic, and social catastrophes».
