Open Access

The Omran journal has a policy of Open Access, given its firm belief in the importance of making academic knowledge available to everyone, regardless of financial or institutional constraints, and so as to further the dissemination of academic research and bolster its impact on society. Under this policy, all materials published in the journal are available for reading, downloading, use, and citation as soon as they are published, without the need for a subscription or prior permission.

The journal is published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This allows researchers and readers to reuse, distribute, reproduce, and translate published materials in any way, for non-commercial academic and educational purposes, provided that the original source and author are clearly and explicitly cited, in line with the journal’s citation format, along with a description of any modifications made to the original text, and providing the original meaning and academic content are preserved. Commercial use, for the purposes of this policy, means the reuse of published content for direct or indirect financial gain, whether through sale, paid subscriptions, or upload to monetized platforms. The use of this license is intended to ensure continued open access to knowledge, to encourage responsible academic cooperation, and to reinforce the principles of serious, open academic publishing.

The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies (the publisher) retains institutional copyright, including for the purposes of republication, distribution, or translation of materials published in the journal via its other publications or its digital platforms, while respecting the authors’ moral rights and explicitly acknowledging them by name as the original authors. In return, authors retain the right to use their work for non-commercial academic and educational purposes, such as by incorporating it into university curricula or teaching materials, or into more comprehensive books or research projects that they may write, with clear references to the original details of publication in the journal, and without contravening the originality requirements of peer-reviewed academic journals regarding republication of work published in the journal, or parts thereof, in their original language or after translation, in other academic journals or parallel publishing platforms, whether in print or digitally. The final published version of research may also be archived in personal or institutional academic repositories, provided that full attribution to the original source is kept.

For organizational and documentation purposes, and without prejudice to the rights granted by the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC 4.0) license for academic and non-commercial use, it is recommended that when reusing, translating, or republishing published materials, in whole or in part, a request be submitted via the Reprint and Permissions Form. The journal reserves the right to regulate institutional re-publication or translation within its own publications, in accordance with its editorial policies. In this context, the ACRPS may republish certain materials from its journals or translate them into other languages for publication in the journal Al-Muntaqa, on its website, through its branches, or via other publication outlets, while fully respecting the authors’ intellectual property rights and clearly acknowledging the original publication.
