​The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies have published the 57th issue (Summer 2026) of the quarterly peer-reviewed journal Omran. This issue contains the following studies: “Gender Discrimination in the Academic Environment: Perceptions of Women Professors at the Lebanese University” by Fadia Hoteit; “The Architecture of Marginalization: Post-Paris Agreement Economic and Social Exclusion of Palestinian Farmers” by Sujoud Awais; “Urban Renewal Policies in Rabat: Real Estate Commodification and Spatial Exclusion” by Oumar El hamdani; and “Cheating and the Changing Meaning of Merit in Moroccan Schools: A Sociological Approach” by Mohamed El Mestari.

The issue also includes a discussion titled “From Container to Relational Space: Martina Löw and the Rethinking of Space in Social Theory” by Aissa El Ghayyati. Also provided is a translation of Mansour Nasasra and Bruce E. Stanley’s “Assembling Urban Worlds: Always-becoming Urban in and through Bir al-Saba’” by Majd Abuamer and Yara Nassar. Two book reviews are featured: Mohamed Oubella and Mohamed Salmi’s review of The Manufacturing of Belonging: A Study of Land Ownership in Saharawi Community (the Ait Oussa Tribes 1600-1958) by Salem Ouakari; and Mada Shuraiki’s review of Charities and Politics in Bashar Al-Asad’s Syria: The Unravelling of the Old Social Contract by Laura Ruiz de Elvira. The issue concludes with five previews of recent publications, prepared by the editorial board.
